There is a saying attributed to Henry Ford:
“Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right.”
A friend of mine got made redundant yesterday. They have been saying it will happen for about six months now. Co-incidence?
I am working towards removing ‘negative absolutes’ and creating choice in my unconscious mind. It makes it so much more flexible to see things I may not normally see under restrictive circumstances.
But, in the same respects, there is the ‘fake it ’til you make it’ scenario, where you can take an positive absolute and just keep re-inforcing it in the present tense - maximising sensory observations (VAKOG*) of the experience. Perhaps it’s harder work to instill positive manifestations, but really, is it? Especially when we have so many ‘tools’ available to us.
- I have found that if I first create choice, this challenges and breaks down a negative state.
- Then, I start to notice when I am doing ‘it’ different - this reinforces the change.
- I can then believe more that I am changing, and start to have even more options.
